Working on a Timesheet
Unlike projects and tasks, timesheets can be created by you independently from your client. You can create timesheets to track your working hours, describe the tasks you worked on, and turn them into invoices to get paid for your work.
Go to Timesheets to access the overview of your timesheets and click on Add timesheet in the upper right corner to create a new one.
You can select a client, name your new timesheet, select an individual currency for it, optionally allocate a budget, and describe the task you want to create the timesheet for.
Once you have created a timesheet, you can add positions to it by clicking on Add position in the upper right corner. You will then need to name the position, indicate the processing period and your fee.
When you finish adding all necessary positions to the timesheet, you can then send it to your self-managed client for approval by selecting the positions you want to invoice and clicking on Ask client to confirm. If your client uses Lano, then you will not need your client to confirm the timesheet and will be able to create an invoice straight away.
Please note: Timesheet positions can no longer be deleted if you have already invoiced them or if your client has already approved them.
Your client will receive an email from us with a link to your timesheet. In another email we will send a code with which your client can open the timesheet and view all positions (see screenshot below).
As soon as your client has approved (or rejected) the timesheet, we will notify you by email. In the timesheet details you can always see when and by whom a timesheet was approved/rejected. Once a client has approved your timesheet, you can turn it into an invoice by clicking on Create invoice.
Most details necessary for invoicing your client will be pre-filled based on the information taken from your Lano profile.
If your client is not yet registered on Lano, you can email your invoice to your client directly through Lano.
