Payroll cut-off dates are the deadlines by which all changes, additions, or corrections must be submitted for them to be included in the upcoming payroll cycle. These dates are crucial for ensuring timely and accurate salary payments to employees.
If changes are submitted after the cut-off, they may require off-cycle payroll processing, which could delay payments and incur additional fees.
Lano manages payroll for two groups:
Included in a single payroll cycle, which simplifies management
Cut-off date: Always the 5th of each month at 12:00 CET. If the 5th falls on a weekend or public holiday, the cut-off is automatically moved to the previous working day.
Applies across all billing entities and countries
You can submit payroll changes during the To Review phase, which starts right after the previous cycle's cut-off

Lano distinguishes between normal and late cut-off dates:
Normal cut-off date: The standard deadline for submitting payroll changes, such as bonuses, expenses, time off, or terminations. All submissions before this date are processed in the upcoming payroll cycle.
Late cut-off date: An extended window (if applicable) for submitting changes after the normal cut-off. Changes submitted in this window may still be included, but are subject to Lano approval and may incur fees.
To avoid complications, always aim to submit all updates before the normal cut-off.
The cut-off schedule can vary depending on your payroll frequency:
Normal cut-off date: 5th of each month at 09:00 CET
Late cut-off (if applicable): Typically around the 7th, varies by entity setup
Covers payroll for the full calendar month
1st half normal cut-off: 5th of the month (covers 1st–15th)
2nd half normal cut-off: 20th of the month (covers 16th–end)
Late cut-offs vary and may be configured per cycle
Normal cut-off date: Typically 3–4 business days before the pay date
Late cut-off: Entity-specific (if enabled)
Once the cut-off date passes:
The payroll cycle moves to Processing status
Lano reviews, validates, and consolidates all submitted data
No further changes can be submitted without initiating off-cycle adjustments
