Lano supports direct integrations with a range of HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) to help automate and streamline employee data management for payroll purposes. This article outlines the scope of these integrations, what we typically sync, how data is mapped, and how to request a new integration.
We support a growing list of HRIS platforms. Some are already live and connected, while others are available on-demand based on client needs.
We distinguish between:
Live integrations – already available and ready to be enabled
On-demand integrations – can be developed upon request, depending on technical feasibility
Our integration landscape evolves regularly based on client demand and system capabilities. Reach out if you're unsure whether your system is supported.
The type of data we sync can vary slightly per integration, but it typically includes:
Employee profiles: name, email, start date, employee ID, etc.
Employment data: job title, contract type, cost center, location, manager
Legal entity details: country, company structure
Compensation: base salary and related information
Time off: balances and leave periods (if supported by the HRIS)
We only sync fields required for payroll processing.
During integration setup, we define how fields from the HRIS match Lano’s internal data model. Below are common examples:
HRIS Field
Lano Field
The exact mapping is always customized during onboarding to ensure accuracy and alignment with payroll requirements.
Here’s how the process usually works:
Initial Assessment
We check if the HRIS supports the required data via API or exports
We confirm the integration priority and use case (e.g., number of employees, countries)
Scoping & Setup
We gather API credentials (OAuth, service users, tokens, etc.)
We define the necessary field mappings and permissions
We configure sync settings (full sync, delta sync, sync frequency)
Testing & Validation
Test syncs are run to validate data accuracy and structure
Adjustments are made if needed
Go Live
The integration is activated in production
We monitor the first syncs and support the client through onboarding
If you’re a client and would like to connect your HRIS:
Reach out to your Lano contact (Customer Success, Product, or Sales) or reach out to help@lano.io
Share basic technical info about your HRIS:
Name of the system
Type of access (API / SFTP / manual export)
Authentication method
Example data or export format (if available)
We’ll assess and let you know next steps.
