When a payroll employee resigns or is terminated, it’s important to record the change in Lano promptly to ensure correct payroll processing and offboarding.
If you’re using an HRIS integration, terminations for payroll employees will be automatically synced from your system. No manual action is needed in Lano for synced profiles.
To manually report a termination for a payroll employee:
Go to the Team section
Select the employee you want to offboard
Click the three-dot menu in the top-right corner of the profile
Select Report Termination
Enter the termination date (required) and termination reason (optional)
Click Confirm
The termination date will appear in the employee’s profile under their employment details
Lano automatically updates the employee’s status based on payroll cycle timing:
Offboarding: When the employee enters their second-to-last payroll cycle
Inactive: Once the termination date is reached
This ensures accurate payroll and compliance handling throughout the offboarding process.
