The job market is changing rapidly - and there are many new ways to find and hire the best talent, from AI-based recruitment tools to DEI initiatives that aim to create a more inclusive environment for candidates.
Here are some of the top recruiting trends we expect to see in 2023.
Today’s job market is becoming increasingly more candidate-driven, with 76% of staffing professionals citing candidate shortages as their biggest challenge. Candidates have more power than ever before - and they are willing to walk away if they don’t like the hiring experience.
So how do you attract candidates? The most effective way is through an engaging hiring process that provides clear insight into your company culture and makes it easy for candidates to apply, interview and get hired—if they want to work at your company!
Candidates are more likely to apply for a job when they have a good candidate experience, and they're also more likely to stay with the company once they've joined if they feel their needs were met during the hiring process.
Engagement with industry influencers is a growing trend in recruiting and hiring. A great tool for this is employee advocacy. It allows you to reach candidates, build your brand, and bolster trust in your organization.
Employee advocacy can be used in many ways. You can promote new job openings or career opportunities to candidates who aren't actively looking for work, or reach out to people who've applied for jobs but not heard back—which is actually a common problem.
Finally, you can utilise employee advocacy to highlight the benefits of working at your company through testimonials from your existing employees.
It’s no news that automation is already impacting the recruiting process, but what you may not realize is just how much it will impact hiring in 2023. That’s why we expect to see more automated recruitment marketing tools, like online bots and AI, that allow companies to better measure candidates’ skills and qualifications.
AI and automation will be used to improve the candidate experience. With AI we will see more intelligent tools that can automate tasks that are currently done manually, allowing companies to better measure candidates’ skills and qualifications.
Companies will also use AI-powered interviewing platforms to provide candidates with relevant information about their employer, making it easier for them to decide whether or not they want to apply for jobs at your company.
It is further possible to use recruitment CRM software to streamline and optimize your hiring process, ensuring seamless candidate management, efficient communication, and data-driven decision-making.

With the pandemic putting a spotlight on remote work and its advantages, companies are starting to offer “work from anywhere” policies or other opportunities for employees to work remotely, so there is no question to us that more companies will be turning to flexible work options.
You've probably heard a lot about flexible work options by now. The idea is that employees can choose to work from home, or at an office outside of the company's main headquarters. Flexible work environments also include things like flextime and telecommuting.
The advantages of these types of arrangements are numerous. Companies can save money on rent and salaries, since they don't have to pay for a workspace for every employee, who may not use it 100% of the time anyway. And flexibility also influences employee’s happiness, as they get to spend more time with their families and loved ones.
They're also more productive because they don't have to waste time traveling in between meetings or commuting back and forth between home and the office every day—and there's no need for them to spend their mornings waiting around at the train station or bus stop!
In today’s climate, it’s not enough for your company to just have a DEI program—it needs to be paramount in every aspect of your business, so we are hoping to see greater emphasis on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).
DEI is a topic that has been getting more attention in the recruiting and hiring world. In today’s climate, it’s not enough for your company to just have a DEI program—it needs to be paramount in every aspect of your business, and include all forms of diversity:
gender identity or expression
ethnicity
age (40 and older)
veteran status (any era)
sexual orientation (LGBTQ+)
socio-economic status (low income)
physical ability (mobility limitations)
learning style preferences
religious affiliation/beliefs
As you can see, there are some exciting changes happening in the recruiting and hiring world. Now is the time to start implementing these trends into your own business—before they become the norm!
