Hiring an EOR Employee: Part 1 – Submitting Candidate Details

Hiring an EOR Employee: Part 1 – Submitting Candidate Details

This article walks you through the first step of hiring a new employee via Lano’s Employer of Record (EOR) service — submitting candidate and job details to receive a precise employment cost estimate. This flow is ideal when you already have a specific candidate in mind and need an accurate cost calculation based on their details. The estimation process includes built-in compliance logic based on job location and work eligibility. If you’re still early in planning or want to explore costs across multiple countries, try the Hiring Cost Calculator for a quicker but less detailed estimate.

How to Start the Hiring Flow

You can initiate the hiring flow from two places in the platform:

  • Go to Onboarding or Team, then click Add team member

  • Select Remote team member

  • Click Continue

You’ll then be guided through five steps to submit the hiring request for estimation.

Step 1: Position Details

  • Job title

  • Experience level (required for the role)

  • Job description (from your job offer)

Step 2: Candidate Information

  • First and last name

  • Email address (we won’t send any communication until onboarding begins)

  • Country where the candidate will work

  • State/Region (only if applicable)

  • Work eligibility – Can the candidate legally work in the selected country?

Step 3: Contract Setup

  • Contract type (indefinite or fixed-term): For fixed-term: specify end date

  • Start date

  • Employment type (full-time or part-time): For part-time: specify hours per day and days per month

  • Annual leave entitlement

  • Notice period (select from predefined options)

  • Probation period (select from predefined options)

Step 4: Compensation and Benefits

  • Gross annual base salary (entered in the local currency of the hire’s country)

  • Bonuses or commissions (optional, if selected: choose type, amount, and payment frequency)

  • Allowances (optional, if selected: choose type, amount, and frequency)

Step 5: Review & Submit for Cost Estimation

  • You’ll see a full overview of your entries.

  • Double-check all data before submitting.

  • If you change key selections like country or work eligibility, you’ll need to re-enter all previous information.

  • Once confirmed, click Get Employment Costs. Lano will forward your request to our local EOR partner to calculate the exact hiring cost based on your inputs.

Once the costs are ready, you’ll review, accept, and officially kick off the onboarding process.
