What is GDPR?

The General Data Protection Regulation or GDPR has been in force since 25 May 2018 and establishes a uniform legal framework for companies with regard to the processing of personal data of EU citizens. In essence, the GDPR aims to protect sensitive data and give individuals greater control over how their data is collected, processed, stored and disclosed.

All companies that collect or process personal data of EU citizens are obliged to prove the lawfulness of data storage and processing to customers, users or supervisory authorities upon request. Further information on the GDPR can be found on the websites of the European Union.

SSL Encryption for Secure Data Transfer

The SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption protocol is indispensable for secure data transmission on the Internet. SSL encryption ensures that sensitive data such as passwords, names or other account information cannot be tapped by unauthorised persons. You can recognize this encryption by the fact that an “s” (“https”) is attached to the known “http” in the URL address. This SSL certification encrypts all customer communications over the Lano platform.

Private Cloud for Data Storage

All personal data that must be transmitted to us and regularly retrieved within the scope of using the Lano platform is collected and archived in a central data storage facility, a so-called “private cloud”, located in the European Union. This data storage is encrypted with proven security software and is thus optimally protected against unauthorized access. In contrast to a public cloud, the private cloud is exclusively used by Lano and only Lano has access to the stored data.

All entries, changes or deletions of data are recorded and checked by us so that we can trace who made the entries, changes or deletions at any time. This ensures that errors in the generation of data or data manipulation are detected by us.

Private Cloud for Data Storage
